Founded in 1884, Seattle Children's Home (SCH) is a private,
not-for-profit organization that responds to the mental health
needs of children and their families throughout Seattle, King
County and Washington State. From humble beginnings as a home
for orphaned children, SCH has blossomed into the only mental
health facility of its kind in King County.
1 in 5 children in the United States suffers from some form of
diagnosable mental illness (The Surgeon General’s Report on
Mental Health, 2009). At Seattle Children’s Home, we strive to
meet the needs of these children and their families.
At SCH, a full spectrum of care is offered. Services range from
residential treatment with 24 hour nursing and psychiatric
services to less intensive counseling visits. Our professional
staff
is
dedicated to providing the highest possible level of care.
We have five programs dedicated to improving the mental health of
children and adolescents.
