Founded in 1884, Seattle Children's Home (SCH) is a private, not-for-profit organization that responds to the mental health needs of children and their families throughout Seattle, King County and Washington State.  From humble beginnings as a home for orphaned children, SCH has blossomed into the only mental health facility of its kind in King County.

1 in 5 children in the United States suffers from some form of diagnosable mental illness (The Surgeon General’s Report on Mental Health, 2009). At Seattle Children’s Home, we strive to meet the needs of these children and their families.

At SCH, a full spectrum of care is offered.  Services range from residential treatment with 24 hour nursing and psychiatric services to less intensive counseling visits.  Our professional staff is dedicated to providing the highest possible level of care.

We have five programs dedicated to improving the mental health of children and adolescents.
