Opening for a full-time, licensed therapist in Outpatient Services at Seattle Children’s Home (SCH). Our outpatient therapists provide comprehensive behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents and families. Therapists work in the home and other community settings, as necessary, as well as at our agency.

The qualified applicant will have a strong understanding of mental health assessment, evaluation and evidence-based practices in addition to other therapeutic interventions. Family therapy experience and experience working with children with developmental disabilities is preferred. Training in contingency management, Positive Behavior Support and the ability to provide parenting skills training to families is desirable. Treatment frequently requires that SCH services be coordinated across treatment programs and treatment modalities. The right applicant will have demonstrated skill at communicating across a wide-range of agencies and systems.

We will soon be training therapists in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). The new therapist will be expected to take part in this training and to provide PCIT to families.

Applicant must have a Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant therapy experience and be currently licensed or license-eligible in Washington State. A valid WSDL, a reliable vehicle and proof of car insurance are also conditions of employment.

At SCH, we emphasize the “Recovery Principles" in our work with children and families. Recovery emphasizes that, while individuals may not always have full control over their symptoms, they can have full control over their lives, that hope and restoration of a meaningful life are possible, despite serious mental illness. Recovery is cited, in the document Transforming Mental Health Care in America, Federal Action Agenda: First Steps, as the "single most important goal" for the mental health service delivery system in the United States..
